In August 2019, I was riding my motorcycle when a white van pulled into my path. I suffered catastrophic injuries, and I am a C2-C5 tetraplegic (Incomplete), paralysed from the chest down. As a tetraplegic, I am constantly prone to sediment build up in my catheter, which used to often culminate in serious urine infections.
I was plagued with urine infections and extreme build-up of sediment in my suprapubic catheter, forcing me to have it changed every two weeks, and in some cases, every week. Two years on and this wonderful device has helped immensely to transform my bladder condition.
If I am honest, when I was first shown the device, I was somewhat sceptical. How could two discs simply clamped over my catheter and linked to a tiny device that would send soundwaves, possibly help with my ever-debilitating condition? Any doubts but I had were swiftly quashed in less than a week.
