The British Healthcare Trade Association, BHTA, recently launched it’s 2023 Manifesto, at a reception held in The House of Commons.
This manifesto calls for collaboration among all stakeholders, policymakers and healthcare professionals to improve healthcare in the UK.
5 key areas are highlighted, which the BHTA believes can have the biggest impact and require government attention. These are:
- Releasing NHS Capacity
- Regulation For Safe & Effective Medical Devices
- Regulate Sustainability & Social Value
- Reduce Export Barriers
- Rethink Innovation & Adoption
Peak Medical was very pleased to have its UroShield Catheter Care kit chosen as one of the BHTA’s examples of radical innovation, which can greatly assist the NHS as a service, and improve long term indwelling catheter users quality of life.
Much interest was generated amongst the MPs, DHSC and NHS Procurement staff present at the event.
Paul Newman, Commercial Director, represented Peak Medical at the event, and commented that everyone present has shown a willingness to adopt innovation much faster to improve patient experiences and outcomes, and help address the twin challenges of resources and capacity faced by the NHS today. Whilst UroShield has started to prove its worth across the UK, the roll out of such unique and innovative technology can only be helped by all stakeholder’s commitment to make changes to the way we do things today.
