Introduction

As responsible citizens, and employers Peak Medical Ltd recognises that we all need to be part of the response to ongoing, long term climate change.

The company directors have measured the organisations current status regarding greenhouse gas emissions, and hereby set out our pledge to do what we can to reduce these over the long term.

As a UK based SME, we hope in our small way we can make a difference and contribute to the overall goal of protecting the planet for our employees, customers, and their families.

Where Are We Today?

In 2022 we decided to measure our base level of emissions. The commissioned results are as follows:

Our Pledge to Improve

We believe the best way to improve our score and ensure long term reductions in our carbon footprint is to embed carbon reduction into the organisations overall business strategy, and everything we do day to day, in a simplistic and impactful way.

Our pledge starts with address the following core improvements and measuring their effectiveness year on year.

  1. Company Vehicle Use.
    1. As and when is practical move company vehicle fleet to a low emission model, by way of full EV or Hybrid models by 2030 at the latest.
  2. Reduce Waste.
    1. Utilise recycled materials in all product literature and catalogues ASAP.
    1. Move all packaging to recycled materials from 2023 onwards.
    1. Ensure all transportation is undertaken by low emission vehicles where possible.
    1. Continue to pursue recycling of all waste produced onsite.
  3. Business Travel.
    1. Reduce use of air travel where practical, move towards further increased use of rail travel for UK based journeys.
    1. Where feasible, continue to provide more opportunities for home working for employees.
    1. Be mindful of all business travel and its environmental impact. Make only necessary journeys.
  4. Buildings.
    1. Work towards switching to utility providers with proven records in carbon reduction.

As a small (SME) level organisation, we believe that helping our employees stick to these 4 simple goals will reduce our carbon footprint sustainably year on year.

With the measurement and publication of our current status, we have committed to taking steps to improve, and safeguard the planets natural resources as much as we can.
